Welsh III resigned following a unanimous vote by the Board of Regents—he will work with the campus community as the Board continues a national search for a permanent leader.

Texas A&M University broke ground today for the $250 million Aplin Center named after Buc-ee's founder Arch-Beaver Aplin, which will replace the current visitor center and serve as an academic hub for food, nutrition, retail and hospitality.

The three-story building is set to be completed in February 2028.
