About this event

For a unique and exciting VAS meeting, Nov.9 @ Degallery join local artist and art educator Mindy Austin for a fun “Collage Clinic”! It’s a Make and Take Event! A Novemberlage !

With Mindy's guidance, we will use mixed media materials and illustrative tools to develop a work of art. Substrates and collage supplies will be provided. You may bring additional materials if desired, and your sketchbook. Everyone is encouraged to bring photos/pictures for inspiration.

Whether it’s called collage, assemblage or mixed media, working with varied materials to create a unique artwork exercises your abilitiy to apply the art elements: (line, shape, form, space, value, color, and texture), which serve as the fundamental building blocks used to create any visual composition.

Let’s have a Novemberlage meeting. Doors open at DEGALLERY at 5:30pm. Everyone is invited - come check us out! There will be light refreshments. Come by a bit early, chat and catch up!

Extra info: Collage is an art technique where different materials like paper, photographs, and fabric are glued onto a flat surface to create a new whole.

The word comes from the French word coller, which means "to glue" or "to stick together"

.

Common Materials Used

• Fabric: Pieces of cloth, ribbons, and lace.

• Found Objects: Dried leaves, bits of metal, string, and other flat items.
