- ➤ Students at Texas A&M built the annual off-campus Aggie Bonfire to honor 12 Aggies lost in a 1999 collapse — a tradition that has united generations for over a century. They said the bonfire’s embers will burn for several days — and the students are already planning for next year's event. KXXV
- ➤ The College Station school board approved changes to the CTE course list that will take effect for the 2026-27 school year—offering students updated vocational training options. The Eagle
- ➤ College Station ISD has partnered with ThoughtExchange to launch a new online platform—this tool lets community members and staff share feedback to shape district decisions. The Eagle
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton warned Baylor, Texas A&M and other universities in major conferences to reject the College Sports Commission agreement because its rules could let the group impose fines and set policies with little oversight—he said the deal risks reducing schools' legal control. - ➤ College Station city council is reviewing recommendations for an economic development master plan— the comprehensive study on challenges like housing, tourism and job creation is set to be presented in the first quarter of next year.
