🎓 Education
Texas A&M was named the best public school in Texas by the Wall Street Journal college rankings.
University officials said the honor showed the school did better than other state schools.
🏛️ Government
College Station City Council moved forward with plans for a multi-use event center after a feasibility study showed the city lost over 60 events with a $13.2M economic impact between 2022 and 2024—losses attributed to insufficient event space.
Council members discussed Hensel Park as a potential site and Mayor Nichols said the city will plan the project, which could cost up to $500 million—using funding from taxes, state funds and legislative support.
