Students at Rudder High School hung a giant 20-foot chrysanthemum in the rotunda for Homecoming week—this project was built by the floral practicum class using hundreds of coffee filters and banner-sized ribbons from various clubs.

The elaborate mum was assembled with help from the engineering department and will be taken down on Monday.

College Station is joining the state’s Lights Out initiative today by dimming non-essential lights to help protect migratory birds that navigate major flyways—residents and businesses are encouraged to turn off extra lights during peak migration season.
