- ➤ Students at Rudder High School hung a giant 20-foot chrysanthemum in the rotunda for Homecoming week—this project was built by the floral practicum class using hundreds of coffee filters and banner-sized ribbons from various clubs. The elaborate mum was assembled with help from the engineering department and will be taken down on Monday. The Eagle

- ➤ College Station is joining the state’s Lights Out initiative today by dimming non-essential lights to help protect migratory birds that navigate major flyways—residents and businesses are encouraged to turn off extra lights during peak migration season. KXXV
