CRIME NEWS

  • Texas A&M suspended the Kappa Sigma fraternity after hazing on Sept. 14 hospitalized a pledge (Brazos County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and seeks witnesses).  KXXV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Texas A&M students led by the Lights Out, Texas! campaign are pressing campus officials to install bird-friendly window markers and reduce skyglow that confuses migrating birds during peak travel season. The group conducts collision surveys and collects data (using test panels on the Agricultural and Life Sciences Building) to monitor the impact of these changes.  The Battalion

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bryan school board voted Monday to adopt a tax rate (2025-26) for the upcoming fiscal year. The new rate will guide budget planning for the district.  The Eagle
  • The city of Bryan is proposing a two hour parking limit for 310 downtown spaces along Main Street & Bryan Avenue on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Community feedback on the proposal is accepted through September 28th.  KXXV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Texas A&M is recognized by Fast Company for its nasal spray breakthrough that treats Alzheimer’s by reducing brain inflammation—tests on mice showed a delay in symptoms by two to three months while researchers plan to produce clinical-grade EVs for human trials, with future patients expected to need doses every six to 12 months. This development marks a less invasive approach compared to other drugs with known side effects.  The Battalion
