GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Bryan announced that city manager Kean Register will retire effective Nov. 3 after more than 25 years of service—he served as interim manager in 2006 and became city manager in 2010. His retirement date was moved up to allow a smooth transition before the budget season. KXXV
- ➤ The College Station City Council unanimously rejected the land sale for a proposed data center after hearing hundreds of public comments at Thursday night’s meeting. The decision stops the project and leaves the land available for future plans — a move shaped by community input. The Eagle
