On Thursday, a Patriots Day ceremony at Bryan City Cemetery Annex honored Brazos Valley veterans with the dedication of columbaria—Veterans of Brazos Valley Memorial markers, a monument and signage.

Students and community members gathered in Rudder Plaza Thursday evening to hold a prayer vigil in memory of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated at Utah Valley University.

The event—co-organized by several on-campus political groups including Texas A&M’s Turning Point USA—featured speeches and group prayer as participants honored his legacy and denounced political violence.

Melissa McCoul, an English professor fired by Texas A&M, has appealed her dismissal and is considering legal action.

Her next steps will be decided in upcoming legal proceedings.
