  • The City of Bryan and Brazos County announced a new Amazon delivery station along Mumford Road that will span 93,000 square feet—construction has started and the station will give residents faster delivery and boost local jobs.  KXXV

  • Fiestas Patrias Mexicanas will host its Hispanic Cultural Day on Sept. 14 at the Palace Theater in Downtown Bryan from 6 to 9 p.m.—the event will feature live performances, traditional dances, and a scholarship award ceremony as Hispanic Heritage Month nears.  The Battalion

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Texas A&M Rec Sports will complete renovations at the Student Recreation Center in November with updated locker rooms opening early to mid November and a new climbing tower and bouldering area scheduled to open around November 24—designed by EP Climbing and funded by Rec Sports fees. The improvements create a clear pathway through the center and meet student requests for modern climbing amenities.  The Battalion

  • College Station city council will vote at 6 p.m. today on selling 200 acres in Midtown Business Park to Priority Power Management for a crypto data mining facility — residents are voicing concerns about transparency and rising utility costs with a public comment sign-up due by 2 p.m.  KXXV

HEALTH NEWS

  • A bacterial infection spread by flea bites is on the rise in Texas, with more than 680 cases reported this year, and Aggieland Humane Society is treating each pet with an over the counter flea treatment—along with monthly pest control—to keep everyone safe.  KXXV
