- ➤ College Station ISD has launched a new bus tracking system using the StopFinder app that lets parents see when students board and exit to get delay alerts and extra safety reassurance. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brazos County's public defender's office will soon add a youth division funded by a grant from the Texas Indigent Defense Commission. The new division will include three attorneys—an investigator and a legal assistant—and will begin phased operations when funding starts Oct. 1 with full staffing expected by end of March. KXXV
- ➤ Texas banned the sale of lab-grown meat on September 1 when Senate Bill 261 went into effect—local barbecue owner Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que supports the ban while some attorneys argue the law unfairly shields cattle producers from future competition.
