ECONOMY NEWS

  • Texas cattle ranchers set record calf prices — three times what they were four years ago — as drought, less available land, and slow replacement of cattle keep beef supply low. Experts from Texas A&M AgriLife say it will take 2 to 3 years for more cattle to be raised, so consumers will see high beef prices for another year.  KXXV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, Brazos County commissioners set a November 4 election to adopt or reject 17 constitutional amendments proposed by the 89th Legislature—this vote will also include trustee races for the Bryan and College Station school districts.
