Bryan ISD will enforce a new statewide ban on communication devices on the first day of school, and students may carry their phones if they are turned off and stored away for non-emergency use.
The district released its student handbook and code of conduct on August 3, and teachers and parents have expressed mixed views (some supporting the rule while others calling for changes) about the new policy.
