- ➤ The College Station City Council moved ahead with a convention center plan on Thursday night after reviewing the second phase of a feasibility study that laid out a multi-use event center and hotel with 212,000 square feet of space and 400 rooms, projected to cost about $500 million—though one councilmember expressed opposition. City staff will review the final report and seek partnerships as consultants estimated the project could bring $2.8 billion in spending, 261 new full-time jobs, and $83.6 million in new tax revenue over 30 years.
