  • Texas A&M University System is joining five other university systems in southern states to form a new accreditation consortium that will set common standards for higher education—helping to improve how schools are reviewed. The group plans to work together on streamlining the accreditation process and ensuring quality evaluations.  The Eagle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • College Station city council approved a $25.50 fee for leaving trash cans on the curb for more than 24 hours—replacing the old method of calling violators to court. The new rule will be enforced this fall to keep streets clear of lingering bins.  KXXV
