ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Officials say two major crashes near FM 60 and Lacy Well Road, one with an overturned dump truck and a second that hit a volunteer fire truck, have caused heavy traffic—drivers are urged to use alternate routes as emergency crews work at the scene.  KXXV

  • College Station police arrested a Waller man on Thursday night for possessing more than 4 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop—an incident that led to further investigation—.  The Eagle

  • The College Station School Board received an update on the 2025-26 budget during a workshop Friday afternoon+officials outlined key spending priorities following the legislative session.  The Eagle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 1567 that will remove the four-person housing limit for Texas A&M students by requiring occupancy rules to be based solely on health and safety standards (not on immutable traits like age or familial status) and will become law on Sept. 1 if Governor Greg Abbott signs it by June 22 (city leaders oppose the measure).  KXXV
