  • A Bryan man was arrested early Thursday morning during a traffic stop and charged with manufacturing and delivering methamphetamine.  The Eagle
  • A Bryan man was arrested on a continuous violence charge after he allegedly whipped a woman with a belt—choking her until she fell unconscious—and police are investigating the incident.  The Eagle

CULTURE NEWS

  • At Texas A&M, 17,000 Aggie Catholics are mourning Pope Francis, who died on April 21 at age 88 after serving 13 years and was honored at a requiem mass at St. Mary’s on April 30 + they now prepare for a conclave to choose a new pope starting May 7.  The Battalion

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Texas A&M’s Mays Business School recently partnered with AI platform Perplexity to give students a way to access Enterprise Pro features for coursework and research. The partnership supports a Fall launch of an AI and Business minor and two AI competitions — administrators say it will help students gain skills needed in a tech-driven workplace.  The Battalion
  • Texas A&M President Mark A. Welsh III announced today a new leadership structure for the university—this change aims to improve decision-making and strengthen the institution. Additional details were shared in a press briefing that outlined the alignment's expected benefits.  The Eagle
  • Aggie women are making progress in Washington, D.C. thanks to Texas A&M internships that offer hands-on learning in public policy—recent graduates have earned new roles and promotions in government.  The Battalion
  • Texas A&M University expanded its policy internship programs to all 11 campuses with the new Public Policy Scholars Program that gives students hands-on experience in Washington, D.C. The inaugural class posed at the Capitol on April 6 and now joins internships & classes at the D.C. Bush School to build practical policy skills.  The Battalion
