- ➤ Federal cuts in food programs have reduced funds for the Brazos Valley Food Bank, so local pantries now give out less meat and protein and more perishable produce to clients—regional agencies and farmers face reduced revenue and support as programs like LFPA and part of TEFAP were cut. - ➤ A College Station woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a man with a drill and threatening him with a handgun. The Eagle
- ➤ A 19-year-old man was arrested on Easter Sunday after a College Station resident found him hiding in the attic on Deacon Drive West — he admitted to entering the home earlier, stealing property and later allowing officers to recover the stolen items — and police charged him with burglary of a habitation. - ➤ On April 22nd, 2025, more than 2,500 people came to Rudder Auditorium at A&M for Charlie Kirk’s American Comeback Tour—he hosted a table and later spoke about how a loss of Christian values may change society—and he answered questions on topics like immigration, sports and culture. - ➤ Kelley Sullivan Georgiades joined the Texas A&M Board of Regents for a six-year term after her appointment by Gov. Greg Abbott and confirmation by the Senate—she took her first seat on Tuesday and voted on matters including buying 867 acres and selecting board leaders, becoming the 219th regent and 11th woman on the board. Her new role will see her work to strengthen the Texas A&M system across the state. The Eagle
- ➤ Graduate student Jess Atkin at Texas A&M grew chickpeas in a 99% moondust simulant at the Heep Center on Thursday, Feb 06—she used microorganisms to turn the toxic regolith into plant food. - ➤ The Texas A and M University System has been selected to lead the new Center for Advanced Aviation Technologies funded by the federal government to advance emerging aviation innovations such as drones, air taxis and supersonic aircraft in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and across Texas. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Chancellor John Sharp said the center will boost job creation and attract investment following a provision in the FAA Reauthorization Act. KXXV
