ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Georgetown will pump 89 million gallons a day from the Carrizo Wilcox Aquifer — a project opposed by Bryan, College Station and Texas A&M — and these groups have sued the developer with a trial set for the first week of May. Local leaders warn that the move could reduce water for future growth.  KSAT

  • Experts warn that tax scammers are targeting College Station taxpayers filing returns due April 15 by using fake emails and texts to steal personal data (scammers may also use AI tools to craft convincing messages). The IRS advises residents to use trusted tax preparers and secure their information (such as using strong passwords and an identity protection PIN) to guard against fraud.  The Eagle

  • The new Ballem Harmony Clinic in Bryan opened to help meet rising mental health needs in the Brazos Valley, where a shortage of providers has led to long wait times for care.
