- ➤ Blinn College nursing students Eva Milne and Irma Sosa earned national awards at the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing conference in Brazos County for research on healthcare shortages; Milne received second place (with Sosa’s work earning third) as both submitted Blinn’s first student-led resolutions for state advocacy in nursing education. - ➤ Educators and supporters of the Women’s and Gender Studies program expressed concerns after Interim President Tommy Williams eliminated the program on Jan. 30; the group emphasized that the 38-year program served as a key resource for academic discussions (including undergrad, grad, and elective courses) and warned it could constrain academic freedom. - ➤ Blinn College's livestock judging team swept both team and individual honors at the Dixie National Collegiate Beef Judging Contest in Jackson, Miss. The team will compete at two upcoming national events (Feb. 28 in San Antonio and March 16 in Houston) as part of their active season. KXXV
