EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Texas A&M ended the Women’s and Gender Studies program on Friday, Jan. 30 after a course review canceled six courses that violated new policies. Current students will finish the program in a teach out lasting up to six months — the decision was due to low enrollment and compliance challenges. The Battalion
- ➤ The annual 50 Men Who Can Cook fundraiser will be held Feb. 6 to benefit CSISD Education Foundation by supporting classroom projects, scholarships, and educational programs. Organizers say the event will showcase local culinary talent and strengthen community ties. The Eagle

- ➤ Rabbi Leibel Lazaroff from College Station was shot while volunteering at a Hanukkah celebration on Bondi Beach during an attack last month — he spent six weeks in intensive care and was released from hospital today as he begins rehabilitation in Australia. KXXV
